يتناول البحث طائر البومة في اللغة المصرية القديمة وعلي وجه التحديد في الفعل sDm "يسمع"، واختيار المصري القديم للعلامة الممثلة للبومة لتحل محل علامات أخري لخدمة أغراضه الدينية واللغوية لاعتقاده أن الحياة تدب مرة أخري في العلامات الکتابية داخل المقبرة فأختار علامات تخدم المتوفي، واعتبر البعض هذا التغيير في طريقة کتابة العلامات خطأ من الکاتب المصري القديم، فکما کان يخشي بعض العلامات التي تشکل عليه خطر في العالم الأخر لذلک اتجه إلي طريقة قطع أجزاء من هذه العلامات ليتفادي خطرها. The research deals with the Owl bird in the ancient Egyptian language, especially in the verb sDm and the ancient Egyptian chose the sign of Owl to replace other signs to serve his linguistic and religious purposes, because he thought that life came again in the written signs inside the tomb. So he chose signs that serve the deceased, but some considered this change in the way the signs were written as a mistake by the ancient Egyptian writer. He was also afraid of some signs that would pose a danger to him in the other world, so he turned to the way to cut off parts of these signs to avoid their threats.
