االدور الاجتماعي للمؤسّسة العسکرية يجمع بين الجيش والمجتمع المدني، فمهمة الجيش ليست عسکرية أو أمنية فحسب، بل هي اهتمام بالمجالات الاجتماعية، إن المؤسسة العسکرية متداخلة في الحياة المدنية بصفتها الحامي الأول للأمن القومي المصري بمفهومه الشامل، کما أنها لن تدخر جهدًا في سبيل رفعة الشأن المصري، والحفاظ على مقدرات الشعب، فتقوم المؤسسة العسکرية بأدوار أخرى بخلاف الدور الأمني والعسکري، بل يمتد دورها للتنمية والتنشئة الاجتماعية، وحماية هوية الدولة
، باعتبار أن تلک العناصر جزء لا يتجزء من الأمن القومي الشامل للدولة، قد أصبح الدور الاجتماعي للمؤسسة العسکرية مرتبطًا بوجودها وتطورها، خاصة مع تراجع الحروب التقليدية والتغير النسبي في مفهوم الوظائف الدفاعية.
The social role of the military institution combines the army and civil society. The army’s mission is not only military or security, but rather an interest in social fields. The military institution is intertwined in civilian life as the first protector of Egyptian national security in its comprehensive concept, and it will spare no effort to advance the Egyptian affair, and preserving the capabilities of the people, so the military institution plays other roles other than the security and military role. Rather, its role extends to development, socialization, and protection of the identity of the state, given that these elements are free from the comprehensive national security of the state. The social role of the military institution has become linked to its existence and development. Especially with the decline of conventional wars and the relative change in the concept of defensive functions.
