This research analyzes implicature in Twain’s A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court. It aims at examining how Twain uses implicature for discovering the figurative use of the language through the language choice to understand its effect on the readers. Implicature is a means of expressing a message indirectly. Speech act is a way of expressing human’s thought through words. When an utterance is produced, it is not merely a combination of words.
