إن مباحث الإلهيات هي من مقاصد أصول الدين وأولها، ومن أهم مباحثه، وأکثر مسائل الاعتقاد إنما تندرج تحت هذا القسم، فمقاصد أصول الدين هي:" مباحث الإلهيات والنبوات والمعاد، مع إيراد الأدلة العقلية والنقلية ومجادلة الفرق المخالفة"، وبعبارة أدق نستطيع القول ان مقاصد أصول الدين تقوم على أساس إثبات العقائد على الأدلة الصحيحة من الکتاب والسنة ومعقولهما وهذه المسألة من المسائل المهمة في الاعتقاد؛ إذ هي أولى المسائل التي تعرض للمکلف في حياته، وبها يصير مسلما ولها يحي، وعليها يرجو ويطمع أن يختم بها حياته فيکون ممن أفلح وأنجح، ومن عاش على شيء مات عليه، ومن مات على شيء حشر عليه .The topics of theology are one of the purposes of the fundamentals of religion (), and one of the most important topics of it, and most issues of belief fall under this section.
