يَستَعرض البحث موْضوعات العنصرية عبر التاريخ، وعنف الشرطة، ونظام العدالة الجنائية، ومواجهة الأفارقة للتمييز العرقي، کما وردت في مسرحية "Ear for Eye". وترکز تاکر جرين على مفهوم التمييز في نظر شخصيات مختلفة مثل: أستاذ، وطالبة سوداء، ورجل أسود، وبعض الآباء السود أيضًا. وعلى الرغم من أن السود قد حصَّلوا بعضًا من حقوقهم السياسية إلا أن احتجاجاتهم تصل إلى مسامعنا لأن ما حصلوا مازال غير کافٍ. تَحتوي المسرحية على بعض مشاهد العنف في الولايات المتحدة الأمريکية وبريطانيا، والتي تحاکي قصصاً واقعية معاصرة. وتعرض المسرحية کذلک قانون جيم کرو، وقوانين الرق باعتبارها دليلاً على تفَشِي العنصرية. يوضح البحث کيف أن هذه المسرحية هي شعلة لثورة شديدة البأس، ومناشدة واعية للتغيير.
Abstract In this research, racism throughout history, police violence, the criminal justice system, and how Africans confront racial inequality in Ear for Eye are examined. Tucker Green concentrates on discrimination through the eyes of various characters, including a professor, a black female student, a black guy, and black parents. Black people have won certain political rights, and we can hear their resolute anti-racial protests; however, it is undeniable that these advancements are insufficient. The play has racial violence scenes in the United States and Britain related to contemporary real life stories. Moreover, it also displays the Jim Crow Laws and the Slave Codes as evidence of the pervasiveness of racism. This research shows how this thought-provoking play is a relentless scream of revolt and an alarming appeal for change.
