يتناول فصل الصورة الشعرية في شعر عبد المحسن الصورى نقطتين:
أولا: مفهوم الصورة الشعرية من خلال إسهامات النقاد القدامى والمحدثين مع استعراض تطور الصورة الشعرية على مر العصور الأدبية وإبراز أهم النقاط الخلافية بين النقاد العرب والأجانب.
ثانياً: بناء الصورة الشعرية من خلال عرض نقدي عام وتتبع تاريخي لتطورها وإبراز نقاط الاتفاق والاختلاف بين النقاد العرب والأجانب مع استعراض بعض الجوانب التطبيقية لفنى التشبيه والاستعارة.
