تتناول الدراسة التطور السياسي للكويت منذ عهد صباح الأول ١٧٥٦م وحتى توقيع معاهدة الحماية مع بريطانيا ۱۸۹۹م، ونجاح أل صباح في الحفاظ على الاستقلال في مواجهة الضغوط العثمانية والأطماع البريطانية، وبدأ التحول من الامارة الى الدولة بدءاً من جهود مبارك الكبير وخلفائه وصولاً إلى الشيخ عبدالله السالم الذي حصلت الكويت في عهده على الاستقلال في ١٩٦١م، وشهد عهده وخلفه الأمير صباح ١٩٦٥-١٩٧٧م بناء مؤسسات الدولة وواكب البناء السياسي تطور فكري ملموس من خلال تطوير التعليم ونهضة الصحافة وانطلاقة الحركة الفنية.
The study deals with the political development of Kuwait since the era of Sabah I 1756 AD until the signing of the protection treaty with Britain in 1899 AD, and the success of Al Sabah in maintaining independence in the face of Ottoman pressures and British ambitions, and the transition from the emirate to the state began, starting with the efforts of Mubarak Al-Kabeer and his successors to Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem, during whose reign Kuwait obtained independence in 1961 AD, and his reign and successor Prince Sabah 1965-1977 AD witnessed the building of state institutions and kept pace with political construction and tangible intellectual development through the development of Education, the renaissance of journalism and the launch of the artistic movement.
