اتفق الصوفية على أن غاية المتصوف السالك إلى الله أن يتحقق بمعرفة الله سبحانه وتعالى معرفة يقينية,ويأخذ المريد نفسه في أول عهده بالطريق بالمجاهدة النفسية,وتنشأ عن هذه المجاهدة الروحية، حالات نفسية معينة تعرف عند الصوفية بالأحوال والمقامات، ولا يزال الصوفي يترقى في أحواله ومقاماته من حال إلى حال، ومن مقام إلى مقام، حتى يصل إلى معرفة الله تعالى معرفة يقينية,وهذا ماقامت به الطريقة العزمية من خلال مؤسسها الإمام أبو العزايم حيث اهتم بهذا الجانب وربطه بالكتاب والسنة,حتي يكون السالك على دراية بما يتوجب عليه تجاه نفسه وتجاه ربه .
The Sufis agreed that the goal of the Sufi who seeks God is to achieve a certain knowledge of God Almighty, and the aspirant takes himself at the beginning of his journey on the path through psychological struggle, and from this spiritual struggle, certain psychological states arise that are known to the Sufis as states and stations, and the Sufi continues to advance in his states and stations. From one state to another, and from one position to another, until one attains a certain knowledge of God Almighty. This is what the Azmiyyah method established through its founder, Imam Abu Al-Azayim, as he paid attention to this aspect and linked it to the Qur’an and the Sunnah, so that the traveler is aware of what he is obligated to do towards himself and towards his Lord. .
