Erasure in Ecolinguistics: An Ecolinguistic Analysis of Nature Sustaining Programmes on National Geographic Channel

Abstract
This thesis attempts to investigate one of Stibbe’s models of analysis (2015) that is meant to show the interrelation between the stories we live by as an ecological approach and the CDA. The model the thesis handling is that which is concerned with ' Erasure' technique. This handling is going to manifest the kind of discourse adopted by some nature sustaining programmes on National Geographic Channel. The thesis concluded that the kind of discourse and the techniques the discourse adopts may drive people to respect and be grateful to the natural world which they are part of or to disrespect and devaluate it.

تبحث هذه الأطروحة التحقيق في أحد نماذج تحليل Stibbe (2015) الذي يهدف إلى إظهار العلاقة المتبادلة بين القصص التي نعيشها كنهج بيئي و ,وتحليل الخطاب النقدي. النموذج الذي تعاملت معه الأطروحة هو ذلك المعني بتقنيه " المحو". سيُظهر هذا التعامل نوع الخطاب الذي تتبناه بعض البرامج الداعمة للطبيعة على قناة ناشيونال جيوجرافيك. خلصت الأطروحة إلى أن نوع الخطاب والأساليب التي يتبناها الخطاب قد تدفع الناس إلى الاحترام والامتنان للعالم الطبيعي الذي هم جزء منه أو عدم احترامه والتقليل من قيمته.
