This study proposes a Cognitive Linguistic Account of Mark Haddon’s The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time from cognitive linguistic perspective. It deals specifically with three theories of cognitive linguistics. These theories include conceptual cross–domain metaphor, conceptual blending and integration, and image schema. The novel is so long. Thus, the researcher chooses only the most noticeable quotations to analyze. Though conceptual metaphor theory shows much information about how people think, blending theory clarifies the artistic styles that manage the structure of meaning. Furthermore, Image schema connects between one’s perception and reason. Consequently, the major aim in this study is to display how conceptual metaphors, conceptual blends and image schemas can describe, appreciate and construct diverse considerations of the literary work. Through the analysis of this literary work, the purpose of the study is to display the writer’s essential points of views, focusing on the social issues that they handle through his novel. Moreover, this analysis enrich the meaning of this novel and describe the characters in detail. This literary work reveals the various kinds of conceptual metaphors discussed in the theoretical frame. Likewise, it approximately reveal the most kinds of conceptual blends and image schemas.
