تهدف الدراسة إلى التعرف على تأثير الشائعات في مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي على عملية التنمية في المجتمع المصري كهدف محوري وأساسي للدراسة، ودور مؤسسات الدولة في الحد من مخاطر انتشار الشائعات في المجتمع المصري ، ومن أجل تحقيق هذه الأهداف اعتمدت الدراسة على المنهج الوصفي, وأداة الاستبيان تم تطبيقها على (355) طالب وطالبة في جامعة المنصورة، وكشفت نتائج الدراسة الميدانية عن تأثير الشائعات في مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي على عملية التنمية حيث تحدث بلبلة الرأي العام ونقص الثقة في الحكومة وأجهزتها،
The study aims to identify the impact of rumors on social media sites on the development process in Egyptian society as a central and basic goal of the study, and the role of state institutions in reducing the risks of the spread of rumors in Egyptian society. In order to achieve these goals, the study relied on the descriptive approach, and the questionnaire tool was applied. On (355) male and female students at Mansoura University, the results of the field study revealed the impact of rumors on social networking sites on the development process, as they create confusion in public opinion, lack of confidence in the government and its agencies, destabilize and recruit users for their extremist ideas, destroy the value and moral system, and create crises. And violence, and spreading feelings of frustration in society.
